The Presidents Corner
There are a lot of things happening at the range and within the Club. Mike Ward had been working on the restrooms, painting and generally repairing them. We should start painting the shade structures on the main range this month. The Trap/Skeet range is re-claiming the lead and we have high hopes that this will give us enough money to purchase some more equipment for the Trap/Skeet range. There are also plans to build a Duck Tower on the Skeet range. We hope to re-paint and repair the signs around the range soon. At the May Cowboy shoot, I was very aware how quickly the daytime temperatures have become very hot so I remind our shooters to wear hats and drink lots of water to prevent becoming over heated. Keep your eyes open for the snakes. Remember, safety isn't just concerned with firearms. In the coming months we hope to have some type of program or guest speaker at our monthly meetings. This month our speaker will be Sheriff Tom Sheahan. Anyone wishing to give a short, 30 min to an hour presentation is welcome to contact me. It would be good if the various shooting groups or individuals with skills or knowledge could share them with the club. In July the subject of range hours will be discussed at the Membership meeting. The Board of Directors are interested in hearing opinions from the members on this important matter. Steve Bell, his wife Linda and several volunteers have been working at cleaning up, repairing and generally making the Trap/Skeet buildings much nicer places. Thank you all, your hard work is appreciated. With the elections coming ever closer, and gun control, control of ammunition and re-loading materials always in danger of putting the shooting sports out of business. I urge everyone to vote and to vote for those who support the shooting sports and the Second Amendment. Don (Doc) Orblom, President
Members or groups having items they wish to have placed on the agenda should contact me at least one week prior to the Board meeting at 753-7136 or dorblom@frontiernet.net ++++++++++++++ |
